Courtyard by Marriott Jersey City Newport

We stayed in this hotel because it was an easy subway ride to New York City. The subway stop is right outside the hotel very convenient. We stayed in room 505. It was very clean. Beds were very comfortable. They even had a chair that folded out to a single bed so it accommodated everyone. The hotel faced the Hudson River with a beautiful view of New York City. There is a sidewalk alongside the river for walks and jogging. Within walking distance, there is a mall, coffee, shops and restaurants. The hotel offers a pool, hot tub and gym. The waiting area on the first floor has a bar and a barista With plenty of room for sitting and waiting for your room to be ready with a court yard outside. There is not a free breakfast or free parking. The parking was reasonably priced with in and out privileges. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I stayed here for my birthday and I had a good time with my friends. The bad part about it was The Jacuzzi, which I was anticipating on so heavily to just relax and chill. The Jacuzzi jacked up my knee!! The wall of the jacuzzi felt like sharp rocks. Idk why this wall of rocks was in this jacuzzi. They have to really fix this problem ASAP because I’m still in pain and that was a week ago. I wish I could add a picture smh

Great location with a bunch of restaurants in walking distance. The staff is super accommodating and nice, even hand wrote a Birthday card for me and left it in my room with a bag of skittles. I highly recommend this property.

My stay here was fine but rooms could be cleaner (I found someone else's clothes behind the TV stand which I assume would have been thrown away if this spot had been cleaned). The fitness room really smells like pickled armits so that could also be improved. Also the AC in the fitness room leaks a little bit so if you're on the floor exercising you'll have cold drops of water fall on your face.

Location is excellent—right in Newport Jersey City on Washington Blvd, literally steps from PATH station (quick ride to WTC/Midtown), Newport Centre mall for shopping/eats, and nice Hudson River views. Perfect affordable base for NYC trips—easy commutes and less chaos. Rooms were a highlight: spacious, clean, modern with comfy beds, good workspace, fridge, and quiet. Felt fresh and well-maintained—great for relaxing after city days. Service was solid—friendly staff, smooth check-in, helpful with directions and requests. Indoor pool/gym nice perks, Bistro for meals convenient. Strong value near Manhattan—would definitely stay again! 4 stars.

The staff are very helpful when asked. Rooms are very clean. Lobby has a great fireplace with couches to chill. Place is RIGHT NEXT to Path so perfect for trips to the city as well... and next door to the super big mall... Make a right out of the lobby to find a bunch of great really close cafes... Overall, a great choice, but I think the place needs some minor tweaks in order to be perfect: The in-house 'Starbucks' with huge hotel-upcharge (e.g. $7 for a latte???) is silly. This might work if the hotel is an isolated suburb somewhere, but in the middle of Jersey City with tons of cafes, this doesn't make sense. As a result, the in-house cafe is always empty and has a ghost-town feel to it...

Exactly what you want in a hotel. Good location, generally clean place, and bonus - pool and hot tub. The only reason for 4/5 stars is that there's no free breakfast, which I would have liked (especially for the price). The little bar does sell a decent egg sandwich, but if you're willing to pay, there are plenty of other options around. I get it - staffing for a free breakfast would not necessarily make sense, and they don't have a ton of space to feed everyone in the morning. But - sorry - I want a breakfast in the morning, so I'll stand by my 4/5 stars on the room. Can't fault them for anything else. They even have a very reasonably priced menu for dinner, which was served by a spectacular bartender (shout out to Alexandra).

The staff was extremely amazing and went above and beyond to help surprise my daughter for her birthday. My mom met us there to surprise my daughter and the staff helped keep the surprise since mom got there before we arrived. They sent up "house keeping" after calling to confirm it was okay - I wasn't able to say anything at check in. The room was great, additional staff around the hotel were all helpful and great to speak with. The only part that was slightly confusing was parking as it's behind the hotel and in a parking garage that is shared with other businesses. no issues with the parking though - just slightly confusing at first. I highly recommend this hotel and would book here again.
